English Corner: The Gospel and Idolatry May 5, 2009
Escrito por Maer em : English Corner, Maer , trackbackIdolatry is one of those subjects that is always in vogue: someone, somewhere, is preaching, talking, thinking, or writing about it. You don’t have to do a lot of digging in the Bible itself to see that idolatry is right at the core of the human drama.
I’ve heard many sermons and lectures on idolatry, but the one that Pr. Tim Keller delivered at a conference (mainly for pastors) a few weeks ago is bound to be one of the best. Don’t assume that the lecture won’t be applicable to you because you are not a pastor–I wouldn’t recommend it if it weren’t. Pr. Keller not only paints in broad strokes the contours of what it means to have an idolatrous heart, he also shows us that idolatry might be more of a reality in our lives than most of us realize.
